Utility Warehouse prices, quoted from its own page

Utility Warehouse publishes two mobile figures on the page read for this record and attaches the word from to both of them. That is a legitimate way to advertise a range and it is not a price you can compare, which is worth saying plainly on a site whose whole purpose is comparing published prices.

Which plan types this seller prices

Taken from the seller's own page, which states the plan and the term. We do not credit a plan type to a seller on the strength of a marketing claim.

Listed on SIM Only Deals Compare

The two published figures

The page states Save over £182 with Unlimited Max – from just £23 a month, and separately Our cheapest SIM-only deal from only £5 a month with 10 GB of monthly data. Both are from prices, and the mobile offer is bought alongside the company's other services rather than standing on its own.

Taken at face value the £5 figure is the cheapest 10 GB in this record, well below Ecotalk's £12.00 for the same allowance. Taken as a from price it is the floor of a conversation about a bundle, which is a different thing, and the honest way to record it is with the word from left in the quote.

What a from price does to a comparison

A from price tells you the cheapest thing the seller can attach the word to, which may require buying several other services. This record keeps such figures because refusing them would leave a seller out of the comparison entirely, and marks what each figure is per so a reader can see which numbers stand alone. The £23 unlimited figure is quoted the same way and should be read the same way.
